MANATEE -- A 23-year-old man stabbed another man after he was attacked while leaving his house early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The victim exited his home in the 300 block of 63rd Drive East in the Sterling Lake Community, where the suspect was waiting for him, according to a release.
The 30-year-old suspect was upset with the victim for unspecified reasons, and began hitting the victim in the head with a board, deputies said. The victim then pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the suspect.
The suspect ran away but was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to the report. The victim was also treated for minor injuries.
Charges are pending in the case.
