MANATEE -- A 41-year-old man suspected of battering a victim was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday with a little convincing from a canine bite, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Timothy Newsome tried to flee the scene of the attack in the 2300 block of Amherst Avenue but law enforcement established a perimeter and a canine quickly located the suspect hiding in a neighbor’s backyard.
Canine Rocky bit Newsome, who was still attempting to flee. Upon realizing he was not going to get away from Rocky, the suspect quit resisting and was arrested, according to the report.
