MANATEE -- A Braden River High School student was charged with with breaking a drinking glass over his eye, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The 17-year-old was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 13600 block of Secondnd Avenue East, according to the report. The victim argued with his girlfriend while driving them home and told her to go home when they arrived. The victim told deputies she then threw a souvenir glass at his face.
Deputies reported the teen continued to swing at her boyfriend, who grabbed her hair to hold her from striking him. The victim sustained numerous cuts before getting out of the truck. She also hit his vehicle while they continued yelling at each other, the sheriff's office said.
After deputies arrived, the teen said she and her boyfriend argued and nothing else happened. A search of her purse revealed a baggie with 10 pink pills and no prescription.
The teenager was charged with aggravated battery and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, according to the sheriff's office website. She was granted supervised release Tuesday afternoon.
