BRADENTON -- Two Sarasota women were charged with possession of drugs after witnesses reported them using a 7-Eleven bathroom at the same time, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Stephanie McCarthy and Lindsey Carson, both 21, were arrested at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday at the convenience store at 902 14th St. W., Bradenton. Police blocked the vehicle McCarthy and Carson were leaving in and noticed numerous pill bottles inside a pink purse, according to the report.
McCarthy could not produce a driver's license so Carson gave her ID. When a check showed Carson had an arrest warrant in Manatee County, search revealed heroin and cocaine in her purse, according to the report. Police also reported finding drug paraphernalia in the car such as spoons with residue, crack pipe and needles.
McCarthy was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license, according to the report. She was released the same day from Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $2,120, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
