BRADENTON -- A Bradenton man was charged with punching someone who owed him money, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Anthony A. Lamela, 21, was arrested at 10:12 a.m. Monday in the 1400 block of 14th Avenue West, Bradenton. Police responded to the 1200 block of 15th Street West in reference to a battery, according to a police report. The victim told police that he was walking when Lamela approached him saying he owed him money. The victim said Lamela then grabbed his shirt and punched him in the left eye, according to a report.
Police said the victim's eye appeared to be only slightly swollen. Police later found Lamela outside his home and he confirmed he knew the victim but said he hadn't seen him Monday.
Lamela was charged with battery and released the same day from Manatee County jail on $500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
