Bradenton police: Thursday's gunfire stems from dispute at club in Palmetto
BRADENTON -- Bradenton Police Department detectives are searching for a 30-year-old man they said was responsible for a shooting near downtown Bradenton Thursday afternoon.
Detectives have obtained arrest warrants charging Jerome Bland with attempted murder and discharging a firearm in public, according to a news release.
The shooting may have stemmed from a dispute the night before at The Hall nightclub in Palmetto, police said.
About 2:45 p.m., police said Bland opened fire on a victim in the 100 block of 10th Avenue West, but the victim was not injured.
Several nearby vehicles were struck, police said.
Police said an investigation revealed Bland to be the suspect. He should be considered "armed and dangerous," police said.
