SARASOTA -- One man was charged with selling drugs and another three were charged with drug and drug paraphernalia possession after deputies executed a search warrant at a Venice home on Wednesday, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
James Merchant was arrested last year for selling hydromorphone and methamphetamine, according to a release. He pleaded guilty was placed on drug offender probation.
Deputies received tips that Merchant was still selling drugs and undercover detectives bought meth and morphine from him at his home in the 700 block of Everest Road last Friday, according to a release. A search warrant was executed at his home at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies said they found several baggies that contained methamphetamine in the home and arrested Merchant on charges of maintaining a nuisance property, violation of probation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies also arrested Edward Krug on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and Joshua Thomas and Kristina Norris on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. The three live in the Venice house with Merchant, according to deputies.
