SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office reports it has arrested a serial car burglar.
Deputies charged a man with multiple December burglaries in the Chestnut Creek subdivision in Venice.
Detectives learned Dec. 14 the suspect gained access to three vehicles in the 200 block of Woodingham Lane and stole nearly $900 in cash, a wallet and two bottles of men's cologne. During the investigation, the stolen items, including personal debit and ID cards, were discovered at the home of a neighbor. When questioned, Brian D. Olsen, 18, admitted to committing multiple burglaries, deputies reported.
Olsen, 225 Woodingham Lane, Venice, is charged with felony occupied burglary of a dwelling and burglary of a motor vehicle.
He is at the Sarasota County jail on $9,000 bond with additional charges pending.
