TAMPA -- Tampa police are responding to a robbery at International Plaza mall in Tampa.
The mall has been placed on lockdown.
Earlier, mall security officials had said shots were fired but Tampa Police said there is no evidence of shots fired.
According to police, during the robbery, glass broke in the store, and shoppers thought it was gunshots.
"We heard what sounded like firecrackers," said witness Cindy Smith, who was being told to remain inside locked stores.
There are no injuries reported.
