MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was arrested on multiple charges involving battery, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Ronald Lee Moore, 50, was arrested at 2:46 a.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of 14th Street West. According to the Moore's roommate, Moore returned from work and wanted to argue. The victim said he went into this room to sleep and Moore later woke him up by kicking his door and kicking him in the ribs. Moore told deputies the victim threw a trash can at him, a report said.
According to the report, the victim refused to leave when Moore ordered him to so. Moore then called 911. and said hte victim was not paying rent. According to a report, the victim showed a responding deputy a receipt that Moore had written him for payment of the rent.
Moore was intoxicated and belligerent, deputies said.
Five minutes after leaving, deputies were dispatched to the same location because Moore and the roommate fighting. After he was arrested, deputies said Moore refused to obey the deputies orders to walk towards the deputies' car when told to do so. He had to be forced into the vehicle and, once inside, banged his head against the divider. According to a report, Moore tried to kick a deputy but missed and on his way to jail said, "I'm going to choke you with your cuffs," and made other threats.
Moore was charged with battery, threatening a public servant and resisting arrest with violence. He was being held in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $1,500, according to the sheriff's website.
