BRADENTON -- Bradenton police are investigating the circumstances of two unrelated deaths on Christmas Day.
About 10:15 a.m., staff at Blake Medical Center told police that a woman who had been dropped off at the emergency room on Wednesday had been declared brain dead on Thursday, according to a report.
Police said the circumstances that led to her death were not known, but "Blake staff is advising the death will be a possible drug (overdose) until the (medical examiner) advises further."
Also on Christmas, about 10:57 a.m., officials found in the 2200 block of 20th Street Court West a man who was unresponsive after a night of drinking.
Responding officers started CPR until paramedics arrived. The man was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Hospital staff told police "that it appears that the subject had passed out and then aspirated on his own body fluids," a police report states.
The names of the deceased were not included in the reports.
