MANATEE -- A pedestrian suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at 6:30 a.m. Monday on 62nd Street Northwest, about two-tenths of a mile north of First Avenue West.
According to a report, a pedestrian was walking along the roadside westbound in a cul-de-sac at the end of 62nd St Northwest from her mailbox to her residence. The suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on the same street and, according to FHP officials, entered the cul-de-sac and made a u-turn circling it. That's when the driver failed to spot the pedestrian and struck her from behind with the vehicle's front right side.
According to a report, the vehicle left the scene traveling southbound on 62nd Street Northwest. The victim was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She could not give any information on the vehicle, tag or driver, according to a report.
