MANATEE -- A Bradenton man was charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, accoridng to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
James Charles Iannello, 59, was arrested at 5:49 p.m. Monday at his home in the 5600 block of 14th Street West. According to a report, Iannello was involved in an argument with his roommate when he became upset and struck his roommate in the left shoulder with a baseball bat. Deputies said the victim then ran inside the home he shares with Iannello and locked the door as Iannello struck the front door and shattered the front door window.
According to a report, the victim suffered a discolored lump on the shoulder and was treated on scene by paramedics. Other roommates witnessed the incident. The bat was collected as evidence, deputies said.
Iannello was being held in Manatee County jail on $7,500 bond, according to the sheriff's website.
