MANATEE — A Bradenton man has been charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Damion Sanders, 22, was arrested on a warrant at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the report.
The victim, who has been in a relationship with Sanders a few months, pulled up in the 500 block of 33rd Avenue East and saw him with another female in the car, according to the report.
As the victim walked toward Sanders to confront him, he started the engine and intentionally struck her with his car, deputies reported, and the victim ended upholding on to the hood of the car as Sanders sped up and slammed on the brakes to throw her off.

The victim told deputies she was on top of the car for about a minute before being thrown off. Sanders then drove away, according to a report.
The victim suffered an abrasion on her right knee but refused medical attention.
Deputies later caught up with Sanders and he pulled into a yard and ran before being arrested. Sanders was being held in Manatee County jail on $25,000 bond.
