MANATEE -- A driver rear-ended a vehicle and drove away from the accident at 5:33 p.m. Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The vehicles were northbound on U.S. 41 (State Road 45) in the outside (right) lane approaching 54th Avenue West when a blue 1999 Ford Focus with a male driver failed to slow began to slow coming up on stopped traffic and collided with the back end of a 2009 Chevy Malibu driven by a 32-year-old Bradenton woman with her 11-, 9- and 6-year-old daughters.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
The Focus left the scene driven by a suspect described as a Caucasian male, in his late 20s with orange hair and a beard.
