SARASOTA — An Osprey man was arrested on multiple charges after deputies found packages of marijuana and other drugs during a traffic stop, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Justin Moss, 29, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, according to the report.
Deputies stopped a black Dodge Durango for speeding at Wilkinson Road and Eleuthera Court in Sarasota and reported they could smell marijuana and asked how much of it was in the car. Morris told the deputies “not much” and handed a small bag over to the officers, according to a report.
As Morris was reaching for the small bag, deputies noticed a U.S. postal service box with vacuum bags and more suspected marijuana inside.Deputies reported finding eight different packages of marijuana, labeled with names such as “Northern Lights” and “Gig,i” which weighed more than 278 grams.
They also found MDMA, hash oil and a silver scale with marijuana residue. Deputies seized Morris’ vehicle and more than $600 in cash.
Moss is charged with possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of MDMA, possession of hashish and possession of drug paraphernalia.Moss was released Thursday on bonds totaling $4,000.
