MANATEE -- Two Lakewood Ranch residents were charged with burglary and credit card fraud by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office after it was reported in the 5100 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
The deputy report pegged the date of the burglary at 3 p.m. Aug. 20.
Locks were cut on two lockers at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA and several items taken, including the victim’s credit cards and house keys.
Shortly after, suspects tried to use the credit cards at the Hess Gas Station, Wal-Mart, and Subway in Lakewood Ranch, and later that same evening the victim heard someone trying to enter his home through the front door.
Trey Brown, 22, and Cody Gillis, 21, fled when confronted by the victim. They were later identified through security video and arrested.
