MANATEE — A Virginia woman has been charged with resisting arrest without violence, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Morgan Rebecca Dettmer, 23, was arrested at 2:21 a.m. Monday. According to a report, she was standing by the driver’s side of a vehicle when a sheriff’s deputy arrived to assist another with a tow log for the car he pulled over. A deputy reported Dettmer was belligerent during a traffic stop/DUI investigation.
A deputy asked Dettmer to step away from the vehicle while he searched the car. Dettmer refused and didn’t budge when asked multiple times to leave the area, according to the report.
Dettmer was highly intoxicated, according to the report.

Deputies began to arrest Dettmer, who began to aggressively turn toward them, according to a report. The deputies told her to stop resisting and put her hands behind her back. Dettmer then tried again to turn toward the deputies in an aggressive manner, the report states.
Dettmer was being held without bond.
