MANATEE — A Tampa woman has been charged with panhandling along a Bradenton roadway, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Sterling Danielle Schulte, 26, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 14th Street West and Cortez Road in Bradenton where she was holding a sign while walking on the median, according to a news release.
A deputy saw her accept money from a vehicle and,when he pulled up beside her, according to the report, Schulte folded the sign reading: “Mother OF A 3 yr. Old Lost Job & Looking NEED HELP with Rent & Bills $130 Short.”
Schulte told the deputy friends advised her to come to Manatee County to make more money, the sheriff's office said.
The deputy reported Schulte does not have any children.
Schulte was released Tuesday on $120 bond.
