SARASOTA — Deputies with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect in an attempted occupied residential burglary.
Responding to a complaint of an attempted burglary at 12:40 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 4800 block of Sawyer Pine Road, Sarasota, deputies reported a victim, 15, said he was home alone when he heard banging from the back of the house. He reportedly armed himself with a shotgun.
The victim reported seeing the suspect trying to get in a back door and fired a warning shot into a door inside the house. No one was injured.
The suspect reportedly is a 5-foot-10 to to 6-foot tall white male wearing a black mask, black zippered jacket and blue jeans with a thin to medium build.
The case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Section of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
