BRADENTON — A Bradenton man was arrested on multiple charges after officials say his vehicle crashed into two men tending to a tow truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
James Sellers, 46, was charged with careless driving, DUI with serious bodily injury, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
FHP reported Sellers was westbound on State Road 70 in the left lane approaching Braden Run just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Two unoccupied vehicles — a Ford van and a Chrysler Sebring — were stopped on S.R. 70 at the intersection of Braden Run. The occupants were outside the vehicles checking the tow-strap connection, FHP officials reported.
According to FHP, Sellers’ vehicle rear-ended the van, which then struck both men.
The victims suffered critical injuries and were sent to Blake Medical Center, according to a report.
Booking information for Sellers was not immediately available on the sheriff’s website.
