SARASOTA — A Venice man was arrested for a second time after deputies say he continued to sell synthetic drugs, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Tipu Ali, 27, was arrested at 2 p.m. Tuesday after undercover detectives executed a search warrant at Beneva Tobacco & Beer, 1295 Beneva Road, Sarasota. According to a news release, detectives made two controlled buys from Ali in June.
Members of the Special Investigations Section reportedly found seven 10-gram bags of AK-47 in a gun box under the counter and one bag of Angry Birds hidden behind a cigarette sign. Both are “synthetic cannabinoids, a controlled substance banned in Sarasota County.
He was arrested for selling cannanbinoids May 28, deputies reported.

Ali was charged with possession with intent to distribute synthetic cannabinoids and cocaine and a violation of county ordinance. A small baggie of cocaine was reportedly found in Ali’s car between the rear built-in child seat. and trunk.
Ali was being held on bonds totaling $3,120.
