SARASOTA -- Two Boswell, Pa., residents have been arrested after a residential burglary was followed by a reported assault on a deputy.
The burglary reported to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office at 2:15 p.m. Thursday was in the 3100 block of Maiden Lane, Sarasota, deputies reported.
A homeowner reported seeing a male and a female stealing a bicycle from the residence. The homeowner tried to detain the male suspect and was punched. A patrol deputy arrived and separated the two individuals.
The female suspect fled on foot and the male suspect ran to a vehicle and left pursued by deputies. The female suspect was apprehended a short distance from the incident location.

At the intersection of Tuttle Avenue and Webber St. the suspect’s vehicle was stopped in traffic. Deputies approached and ordered him out of the vehicle. The suspect accelerated the vehicle through the intersection forcing deputies to avoid being struck by the vehicle.
Deputies found the suspect’s vehicle abandoned in the 1700 block of Jefferson Avenue. Sheriff’s Office TAC, patrol and canine units along with Sarasota Police Patrol and canine units set up a perimeter and continued to search for the suspect. He was found hiding near a residence.

Pamela Adkins, 33, was charged with one count of residential burglary.
