MANATEE -- A Bradenton man and an Ellenton man were charged with dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawn broker after reportedly selling a television stolen from someone’s home, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Lloyd Petri, 43, was arrested at 1:35 p.m. Monday by police who say he received $80 for an old Samsung TV taken by James Thomas, 36, earlier that day. Thomas, of Ellenton, was charged with burglary in an unoccupied dwelling.
Both men were arrested at a Cash America Pawn, 5100 14 St W. in Bradenton.
Witnesses called 911 at 11:55 a.m. Monday to report their neighbor’s trailer home was being burglarized and two suspects were leaving in a green and white Dodge pickup.
At 12:08 p.m., a deputy stopped the Dodge as it was leaving the parking lot of a Cash America Pawn. Petri reportedly said he pawned his old Samsung TV just before he was stopped.
Witnesses identified Petri and Thomas, police reported.
The victim told police from Michigan he had a Samsung television in his living room.
Petri was booked in county jail and held on $9,000 bond. Thomas was booked on $7,500 bond.
