Two people stopped on the street by officers Friday night were found to have rock cocaine and drug paraphernalia in their possession, according to Bradenton police.
Officers were patrolling the 1200 block of 21st Avenue West after complaints from residents about narcotics and prostitution in the area, according to a police report.
Around 7:44 p.m., officers saw Breona R. Wilson and Michael B. Code commit a "pedestrian violation," the report states. When the two were stopped, Wilson, a "known prostitute," according to police, reportedly became combative and refused to comply with officers' orders.
Officers found Wilson had an active warrant for her arrest, and when she was searched they found "multiple items of drug paraphernalia" in her possession, the report states.
Code consented to be searched by the officers, who found drug paraphernalia and several pieces of rock cocaine, according to the report.
Wilson and Code, who both have "a criminal past with narcotic and prostitution related activity," officers said, could not provide a reason for why they were in the area. Both were booked at Manatee County jail.
