MANATEE — A 63-year-old Bradenton man was killed in a two-vehicle accident about 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. The name of the victim was not released pending notification of family.
A 2012 Honda Civic driven by the victim was southbound along with a 2012 Nissan Cube driven by a 68-year-old Bradenton woman in the outside left turn lane of 59th Street West south of 43rd Avenue West.
The Nissan was stopped for traffic when the victim driving behind her reportedly experienced a medical event causing him to lose control of his vehicle, which failed to stop. The front of the Honda collided with the rear of the Nissan, which was pushed forward and came to rest facing south in the outside left turn lane just south of 43rd Avenue West.
The Honda came to rest facing south in the outside left-turn lane behind the Nissan.
The victim was transported to Blake Medical Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:35 p.m.
The Nissan driver was not injured and her 66-year-old husband was treated for “minor” injuries at Blake.
