EAST MANATEE -- Traffic through a busy East Manatee intersection is slow Wednesday morning as crews work to clean up oil that spilled after a crash, according to Florida Department of Transportation.
The crash happened at the intersection of State Road 70 and Lockwood Ridge Road. About 15 gallons of oil spilled, according to a news release.
The eastbound outside lane on State Road 70 and the outside westbound right turn lane on State Road 70 are closed. The outside lane on Lockwood Ridge Road is also closed, according to FDOT.
As of about 10:30 a.m., the closures were expected to be in effect for several hours.
"Motorists should add additional time in their schedule to reach their destination or seek alternate routes," the release states.
