SARASOTA -- A Bradenton man was charged with felony possession of crack cocaine after he told officers, "I don't smoke cigarettes, I smoke weed," Sarasota police said.
Charles Williams, 41, was one of several people officers saw sitting at a table on the north end of Whitaker Park, 1401 N. Tamiami Trail, about 2 p.m. on Jan. 18.
"As officers approached the people sitting at the table, they noticed Williams turn around on the bench where he was sitting and drop a cigarette box to the ground.
When officers told Williams he had dropped his cigarettes, he respond: "I don't smoke cigarettes, I smoke weed," according to the report.
