SARASOTA — A Sarasota woman operating a pet-sitting service was arrested for selling thousands of dollars worth of property stolen from a client, according to the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office.
Jill Huber, 42, was arrested at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday and charged with two counts of dealing in stolen property and two counts count of giving false verification of ownership to a pawn broker, according to an arrest report.
On Dec. 17, the victim reported the thefts of jewelry, cash and electronics valued at $12,300 to the sheriff’s office.
A search of pawn shop databases uncovered two transactions at the Value Pawn on 3162 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota that contained the stolen items.
The victim told detectives she allowed Huber, owner of Pro Pet Services, to stay at her home from Sept. 8 to Oct. 13 for free in exchange for dog sitting.
In December Huber was arrested and charged with grand theft after detectives say she stole $30,000 worth of jewelry from the home of another client.
