MANATEE -- An 18-year-old man late Wednesday was robbed of his cash and his marijuana when he met some people he expected to "hang out" with, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 9 p.m., the victim was picked up by the four suspects in the parking lot of the Sweetbay grocery store at 2501 Cortez Road W., according to a news release.
"Once inside the vehicle, one of the suspects mentioned that they should all put their money together to determine how much they had in total. The victim pulled out $123 in cash," the report states.
One of the suspects, Stephen Cayrich, 19, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim and Cayrich wrestled for the gun until another suspect in the vehicle, Brandon Johnson, 18, pointed a gun at the victim and ordered him to stop fighting.
The victim "acquiesced and was relieved of his cash and marijuana," the report states.
The victim got out of the car and called 911.
Based on a description provided by the victim, deputies located the vehicle at a residence in the 4800 block of 33rd Street West and found the suspects.
Deputies arrested Tyler Claudio, 18, as well as Cavrich, Johnson and a 17-year-old girl. Cayrich was holding a small bag of marijuana in package matching a description provided by the victim, according to the report.
The three men were each charged with armed robbery and were being held without bond at the Manatee County jail. Cavrich also faces a charge of possession of marijuana.
