MANATEE -- A 29-year-old man was arrested Sunday in Bradenton after he forced his girlfriend into his truck and held her against her will, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 8 p.m. Sunday, the woman was standing outside a trailer at Lloyd's Mobile Home Park, 1419 26th Ave. W., when her boyfriend, Fernando Resediz drove up. During an ensuing argument, Resendiz placed a screwdriver against the woman's neck, forced her into his truck and drove away, according to a news release.
While driving, Resediz continued to threaten the woman, and he would speed up when she tried to open the door to get out, the sheriff's office said.
Eventually, Resediz pulled into an apartment complex's parking lot. While the vehicle was still in motion, the woman opened the door and stepped out. The woman fell to the ground and ran away, but Resediz chased her, caught her and punched her in the face. He then drove away, according to the report.
