MANATEE -- An armed home invasion at the 4300 block of Drake Boulevard at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday ended with the would-be robbers leaving empty-handed.
The Mantee County Sheriff's Office reported three men arrived at the residence in a black four-door vehicle. The driver backed into the driveway and stayed in the car while the other two knocked on the door.
A juvenile answered the door and the suspects asked if their mother was home. The juvenile said no and began to close the door when the two suspects forced their way inside armed with semi-automatic handguns.
The suspects went immediately to the back bedroom where a man was asleep. The suspects allegedly demanded "the safe and the weed," ransacked the bedroom and fled empty-handed, according to the victim, in the vehicle toward Lockwood Ridge Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
