The Manatee County Sheriff's Office has charged 26-year-old David Epperson with false imprisonment after he allegedly bound and choked his 31-year-old girlfriend following a fight at 4 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of 38th Street West in Bradenton.
Deputies reported late Sunday evening that a verbal argument escalated when Epperson allegedly squeezed the victim's throat with both hands until she could not breathe and began to pass out.
He stopped and she regained consciousness. He then allegedly took her shirt and wrapped it around her neck and began to choke her again threatening to kill her. The victim reported she remembers being tapped in the face until she once regained consciousness.
Epperson then allegedly took duct tape and bound her hands behind her and her feet together. Epperson reportedly battered her more before releasing her.
MCSO units located and arrested Epperson, reported Sgt. Rod Taylor
