A man told authorities he was the victim of attempted strong-arm robbery by two suspects in Manatee County Sunday.
The crime occurred at 4:05 p.m. in the 5500 block of 34th Court East, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
The victim looked out his window and reportedly saw two suspects had blocked his driveway with a red car, possible a Pontiac with a faded roof.
A male exited the driver’s side of the red car and allegedly began urinating in the victim’s front yard.
When the victim walked out of his house, a female exited the car and asked if he had $10 for gas. When the victim said he did not, the female allegedly began patting him down, apparently looking for his wallet.
The victim tried calling 911 from his cell phone but the female suspect grabbed at the phone in an unsuccessful attempt to take it away, according to the report.
During the struggle, the victim suffered a scratch on the upper left arm.
The two suspects then fled the area and have not yet been located. The male suspect is about 6-foot-tall, bald with multiple tattoos on his arms and head. He wore blue jean shorts and no shirt.
The woman is about 5-6, 130-pounds with long hair. She was wearing blue jean shorts with a red tank top.
