The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to track down a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run accident at 2:35 p.m. Monday at 26th Street West and 45th Avenue West.
No one was injured in the accident.
A 1991 Nissan Maxima driven by a 20-year-old Bradenton woman was stopped in the right lane facing south on 26th Street West just south of Orange Circle behind an MCAT bus when a vehicle described by witnesses as an older model tan passenger van with damage to the passenger’s side was traveling south in the left lane on 26th Street West approaching Orange Circle.
The van reportedly changed into the left lane suddenly and clipped the front of the Nissan with its right side.
The Nissan driver, who had a 29-year-old male passenger from Bradenton, did not see the van before it left the scene, she reported to troopers.
Anyone who witnessed this crash or has knowledge as to the identity and or location of the hit-and-run vehicle or driver is asked to contact FHP at 239-938-1800.
