The Florida Highway Patrol reports two were killed and six injured in a van rollover at 9:37 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 75.
A 28-year-old Cape Coral woman was driving a 1994 Dodge Ram van northbound on I-75 when the left rear tire blew out, reports FHP. The driver lost control of the vehicle, FHP reported, which veered across the center and right lane before it overturned.
The two fatalities were wearing restraints. One passenger, in critical condition at Blake Medical Center, was not wearing a seat belt. The other five injured were all classified as serious and all wore seat belts.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor, according to FHP.
