SARASOTA -- The northbound lanes of U.S. 301 at Fruitville Road in Sarasota have been re-opened after police investigated a crash between a motorcycle and a car early Tuesday, according to police.
Between 6 and 6:30 a.m., a 57-year-old motorcyclist from Sarasota was heading north when he collided with a car that was turning left into a Shell gas station, police said.
The motorcyclist suffered unknown injuries and was flown by helicopter to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.
The driver of the car was not injured.
