Two motorcyclists and one passenger suffered serious injuries Saturday when hit by a sports car driven by an 83-year-old Sarasota man patrolmen say was over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
The incident occurred at 8 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Beneva Road and Mary Lane in Sarasota, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The report alleges William Duling of Sarasota was in a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette driving south on Beneva Road when he turned left at Mary Lane in front of a 2012 Harley Davidson and a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja.
The Harley Davidson hit the right rear corner of the Corvette while the Kawasaki veered right to avoid the collision and overturned on its right side.
The 53-year-old Nokomis man driving the Harley Davidson, a 40-year-old Sarasota woman who was a passenger on the Harley Davidson and a 42-year-old Sarasota man who was on the Kawasaki, according to the report.
Duling, who was not injured, has been charged with DUI with serious injury.
The motorcycle drivers were taken to Blake Medical Center and the passenger was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
