MANATEE -- Manatee deputies were searching for an armed robbery suspect who fled Wednesday morning while detectives were serving a search warrant at his apartment, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives were serving the warrant in the 1300 block of Hidden Circle East, when the suspect, Teddy Davis, 22, fled the apartment complex in his vehicle, according to a news release.
Detectives tried to make a traffic stop on the suspect in 7200 block of 15th Street East.
"The vehicle pulled over and the suspect waited for the detectives to exit their vehicle and then he sped off," the report states.
Davis struck two trucks on 15th Street East, near Tallevast Road. He then fled on foot, according to the sheriff's office.
Davis is wanted on aggravated battery and armed robbery charges in connection with an April 25 incident during which a 37-year-old woman was beaten and robbed at gunpoint, according to the sheriff's office.
He also faces charges of possession of firearm by felon, fleeing to elude and leaving the scene of a crash.
