OLDSMAR -- A deputy took matters into his own hands Tuesday morning and wrestled a 10-foot nuisance alligator into submission.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, a 911 caller at 5:45 a.m. said a gator was snapping at cars near a dentist's office at Tampa Road and County Road 611.
Deputy Jeffrey Crandall for for a fish and wildlife officer to come and get the gator. In the meantime, though, Crandall jumped on the back of the 10-foot-long beast. He taped its mouth shut, and another deputy helped roped it to keep it still.
According to the sheriff's office, this wasn't the first time Crandall has tangled with a large gator.
