Authorities are responding to a report of a brush fire near Interstate 75 in Parrish, according to the Florida Highway Patrol website.
Troopers were dispatched at 2:03 p.m. in response to a blaze reported to be on the east side of the highway near mile marker 229, near the northbound lanes.
FHP cautioned motorists to use caution while driving in the area.
Via Twitter, one passing motorist reported seeing flames and that traffic was slowing through the area.
