MANATEE -- The suspect in a Bradenton shooting and another man were arrested after a high-speed chase late Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
No one was injured, but it wasn't until the chase ended near the top of the Desoto Bridge did deputies realize there also were two small children in the suspects' vehicle.
The case started about 6 p.m. Tuesday, when someone shot out the back window of a car parked in the 5600 block of Eighth Street Court West in Bradenton.
About 9:54 p.m., detectives learned the suspect, identified as Devante A. Brown, 19, was at the Shell gas station at 836 301 Blvd E. Multiple deputies responded and tried to stop the suspect's vehicle, a Pontiac, from fleeing, according to a news release.
