MANATEE -- A suspect in a domestic battery case fought with deputies, and had to be subdued with a stun gun, and multiple deputies, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
Deputies were called to the home in the 300 block of 47th Avenue Drive West about 9:09 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect, who was reported to have a long gun and to be suicidal, refused to show his hands to deputies and to step completely out of a closet, the sheriff's report said.
Eventually, the suspect stepped out of the closet, but reached back in, and was hit with a jolt from the stun gun. As soon as the charge was done, he began physically resisting the deputies, the report said.He was treated at the scene by EMTs and transported to an area hospital, where he was cleared.
Lawrence Cobb, 27, was charged with resisting arrest with violence and possession of ammo/weapon by a convicted felon. He was being held in Manatee County Jail.
