BRADENTON -- The reward for information about the killer of Bradenton man last month has been increased to $6,000, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Rene Salinas, 31, was shot to death about 3:15 a.m. Dec. 9 as he was stopped at the intersection of 27th Street East and 13th Avenue East. The shot was fired from another vehicle, according to police.
No arrests have been made in the case.
The original reward for information, offered by Crime Stoppers of Manatee County, was $1,000, but the Gold Star Club of Manatee County has stepped forward with the promise of an additional $5,000, according to a Bradenton police news release Wednesday.

In the release, police spokesman Capt. Warren Merriman said detectives "are actively investigating this homicide, and hope that the additional reward money will motivate witnesses to come forward with information that will assist investigators, and bring closure to the victim's family."
Police said that an unharmed passenger in Salinas' vehicle described the shooter's car as a light-colored, four-door sedan, which continued westbound on 13th Avenue East after the shooting.
