MANATEE -- A 20-year-old man was killed and two other people were critically injured in a single-car accident early Thursday in Bradenton, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
About 2:46 a.m., Darian T. Everett of Bradenton was heading north on 34th Street West, north of 49th Avenue Drive West, at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of his 1972 Chevrolet Nova, causing it to rotate clockwise traveling towards the east shoulder of the street. The car collided with a utility pole, before continuing in a northeast direction until it collided with a car parked in a drive way in the 4800 block of 34th Street West, according to an FHP report.
The car eventually overturned in the front yard of a nearby residence, according to FHP.
Everett was pronounced dead at the scene, and two passengers in his car, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition, according to the report.
