BRADENTON — No arrests have been made in the chilling death of a 31-year-old married Bradenton man who was shot to death Sunday morning in his car.
Rene Salinas died as he was turning at the intersection of 27th Street East and 13th Avenue East at 3:15 a.m., according to a Bradenton Police Department report.
Bradenton Police Deputy Chief Keith Franklin Davis, speaking in front of the police department building on Monday, said his department has chosen a path of caution on the case, including silence on personal aspects of Salinas’ life.
Even though police have indicated that there appears to be no motive and that the shooter did not know Salinas, they are not absolutely sure.
“We’re not releasing information on where he lived or what he did,” Davis said. “We are kind of protecting his family right now since we don’t know for sure what we have here.”
Salinas had five children, police had said earlier.
Police Chief Michael Radzilowski on Monday said there had been no arrest yet.
“We are still rustling the bushes,” he said.
