MANATEE -- At least 12 Manatee County students were evaluated for minor injuries after a school bus crash Monday morning.
According to Manatee County EMS, the injuries were minor and the students were treated as a precaution. Two students who bumped their heads were transported to an area hospital to be observed while the others were evaluated at the scene. Between 12-15 total students were evaluated.
The crash happened at 8:30 a.m. at 69th Street East and 76th Avenue East near Ellenton.
The bus was headed to Mills Elementary at the time of the crash, when a car pulled out in front of it, said principal Mike Rio. The other students not being evaluated were taken to school.

Rio said there were 59 students on the bus at the time of the accident. Five of the students were taken by ambulance to Manatee Memorial Hospital. Another three students were taken to the hospital by their parents, Rio said.
The crash is under investigation.
