BRADENTON -- Authorities say a burglary suspect left a clue that ended up leading the law right to him.
Willie L. Blue, 28, apparently gained entrance to a residence in the 300 block of 18th Street E., Bradenton on May 24, 2011, by kicking in the front door, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.
While at the scene processing evidence from the burglary that occurred, crime scene investigators discovered a sock left near the kicked-in door, the report states.
The sock had blood on it, the report adds.
It took until March 26 of this year, but eventually a lab report from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement returned a positive match for Blue, the report states.
The victim in the crime told officers that she didn't know Blue from a picture shown her and indicated there was no reason for his bloody sock to be at her residence, the report adds.
