BRADENTON -- The victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident early Saturday has been identified as William Ray Perri, 46, of Bradenton.
The man was struck by a car in the 1700 block of 17th Avenue West about 2 a.m. Saturday, said Bradenton police Sgt. Eddie Weldon.
The car drove off.
There are no witnesses to the incident, Weldon said, and a description of the car was not available. A driver passing by called 911.
Police found the man lying on the street, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim's family was able to identify him in part through a description of his tattoos that were published in the Herald.
Those tattoos included a skull with a cowboy hat on his right arm, a heart with the name “Cathy” on his left arm, and a large crucifix on his chest.
