MANATEE — A Manatee County school bus minus students was involved in a three-vehicle accident Monday near the intersection of State Road 64 and Mill Run East, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.
Suffering minor injuries in the accident was a 16-year-old, who was driving a 2009 Honda CRV and two passengers, both from Bradenton, the report said.
The driver of a second car, a 16-year-old Palmetto man, in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup, was not injured, according to the report.
The Honda turned right into the left westbound lane of State Road 64 and into the path of the pickup, the report said. The pickup then collided with the rear of the Honda and came to rest facing west in the left westbound lane of S.R. 64, it said.
The Honda rotated over the median into the path of the school bus, and struck its left side, the report said. The front left of the school bus collided with a light pole, knocking it over into the eastbound lanes of S.R. 64, reports said. The bus driver and his passenger were not injured, the report said.
Charges are pending in the incident, the report said.
